Intermediate Critical Reading - Photography In , a man named Tiphaigne de la Roche made a bizarre prediction. In an imaginary story called Giphantie, mirror images of scenes from nature could be captured permanently on a canvas covered with a sticky material. After the material dried in darkness, the image would remain on the canvas forever. The ideal image size for your Facebook cover photo is px by px.; For best results, make sure your image is JPG format, with RGB color, and less than KB.; Facebook will automatically format your photo to fit the cover photo slot, so if it’s not sized correctly, you might experience some distortion.

IMAGE QUALITY. Book printing requires that digital images be a minimum of dpi (or more accurately pixels per inch). If you want to use a physical image (photograph, drawing,or painting) it must be scanned at dpi or more. Most scanners allow you to set the image resolution. We recommend or even 1, dpi. While selling your images may be the dream of many photographers, dealing with confusing contracts isn't part of that dream. Photo examples help show the reader what, why and how to get the results they are looking for. Another jewel of a book that the reader will use and treasure for years to come. Optical construction of images, namely in image-quality, effects the mind of a viewer. Therefore, film, TV, and photography professionals create images to affect viewers' emotions and feelings.

We spend a lot of time thinking about how to make and take a photograph, but we may not be as thorough when thinking about how to view a finished photograph.

There may be material in the image which helps to date it. For instance, a photo of a particular brand of motorcar. In my mind there is one particular difference between photographers and viewers: We photographers know that there is more to a photo than meets the eye.

Photography matters, writes Jerry Thompson, because of how it works—not only as an artistic medium but also as a way of knowing. With this provocative observation, Thompson begins a wide-ranging and lucid meditation on why photography is unique among the picture-making arts.
